Where We Came From

In 2004, God began speaking to Tim Urmston (who is now our lead pastor) about the need for a Vineyard Church on the westside of Cincinnati. Although there were many naysayers and doubters, God proved faithful with a small group of devoted volunteers. We talked with several people to pull together an “interest meeting” on the westside to see who might be on board with making this thing happen. Much to our surprise, the interest was huge—40 of us packed the Front Porch Coffee House where we discussed hopes and dreams for the westside.

Our journey began by renting out the cafeteria of Dater High School every other Thursday. We had between 40-80 people show up for a few months and we decided that we needed something bigger. A door opened up at the DanBarry movie theater in Western Hills, and 175 people attended our official launch in September 2005. We now average over 600 people with more than 100 volunteers serving in various capacities. It’s been amazing and challenging, and we’re just getting started.
